15U players named All-Gym Rat

TEAM FRENJI 15U Players were selected to the GYMRAT Challenge All-Tourney teams. Here’s the write up:

Paschal Chukwu (7-1 C) Team Frenji/Trinity School: An African import who has been playing for less than a year. Tall, but still extremely center. Tremendous potential. Developing at a quick pace. Dominates in the paint. Great shot blocker. Will only get better with bulk/strength. Converts lob passes into dunks. Decent footwork at this stage. Tremendous impact on games at both ends. The sky is the limit for him.

Honorable Mention: Paul Emdin (6-1 G) Frenji, Matt Staubi (5-7 PG) Frenji.

Josh James leading Gauchos 16U

Team Frenji Grassroots player and local Archbishop Stepinac HS rising Junior, Josh James, is leading his NY Gaucho team to a very strong start this spring.
Josh started this year at Stepinac and finished up his sophomore campaign strong as the Crusaders lost in the semis if the NYC CHSAA A championships.
Here is an article from nychoops.net on Josh’s recent leadership play going into the summer basketball season:

It all came down to two teams in the 10th grade Metropolitan AAU Regionals.
The Long Island Lightning-McNeil would face off against the New York Gauchos on Wednesday at the Island Garden. In an ugly defensive match-up, the lead would change hands multiple times but a late charge by the Choz would put them over the top, 60-52.Scoring in transition with players leaking out after missed baskets, the Gauchos would jump out the box to a 10-2 lead as Josh James(pictured left) (7 points) drained a trey with 12 minutes remaining in the third quarter. more….http://nychoops.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1227650
